The 2014 annual Master Builders South Africa (MBSA) Congress is in its 109th year and has become the premium gathering for building contractors, construction and project managers, built environment professionals, manufacturers and suppliers to the building industry.
The annual Green Building Council of South Africa’s convention is an event that brings together the commercial property, sustainability and green building industry. The projected high urbanisation rates will mean that cities and urban developments will grow exponentially. This includes townships and informal settlements. The proportion of people living in urban areas increased from 52% in 1990 to 62% in 2011. The estimated figures suggest that this will continue to increase to over 70% by the year 2030.
